Wymondley Baptist Church
And here you can see the items contributed for Harvest 2019 at the service in our Chapel which was shared by the congregation of our local village Parish Church, with the service led by the Vicar, Rev Ginni Dear. Tinned items, as in recent years, were taken to the local Foodbank.
It's Harvest Time! (2020-style!)
Our church congregation may only be able to meet together for worship, Bible Study and encouragement by Zoom, but we were able to organise a Saturday morning collection for our annual Harvest celebration.
Food donations from our congregation and friends were received outside the Chapel (in a 'socially distanced' way!) and then were displayed together for this photo.
A couple of days later they were taken to the Hitchin Foodbank where they were gratefully received.
This reminds us that even in these difficult days there are still things to be thankful for and, in fact, it helps us to express our thanks to God and the people we have contact with for blessings we receive.
'Come you thankful people come
Raise the song of harvest home'
We have a harvest celebration every year. In 2019 it was celebrated as part of our Messy Church programme. We thanked God for all the good things he gives us, enjoyed a display of harvest produce, sent a stack of food to support the local Foodbank and after the service enjoyed lunch together - a great day!
